 Nice appearance but flimsy Sep 03, 2010
Bought two lamp shades and placed them on either side of my bed. They look nice, but if I brush up against them, they wobble quite a bit. I suppose it is to be expected that if you have something tall and narrow, it will be unsteady, but I wished they had placed more weight on the base. I may actually nail them onto larger wooden bases for stability, but they do get the job done. Also, they are elegant in appearance and add a sophisticated accent to my bedroom for relatively low cost.

This is a very elegant and marvellous piece of decor. This product is very well put together.I see where others have trouble with putting it together, all it takes is actually reading the instructions before assembly. The small shafts are in a red bag and the larger ones are in a different bag. The instructions are clear to use the shorter ones at the top. This is a sturdy lamp and it puts out just the right light. I highly recommend this lamp.
It goes together with ease and it was packaged perfectly . I give it 5 stars .

First a tip: I'm a huge fan of Amazon but it is only fair to mention that you can get this lamp direct from Target stores as well. When I bought it from Target it was the exact same price in-store as it is listed here ($59 at the time of writing this).
The design is simple and the materials are not high-end but for the cost the lamp is stable and attractive. The shade is study and does a good job of softening a 60 watt bulb for a comfortable warm glow. The built in shelves are a nice touch as well. The unit also includes two zip ties which allow you to fasten the cord down one of the verticals - this helps to conceal the cord, particularly if you place the lamp in a corner. All in all the kit has more little touches than you would expect for the cost.
Installation is easy and require only a philips head screw-driver. Many have stated the instructions were not clear about the short lengths going on top - the instructions are spartan but they suffice.

Pull chain broke after 3 months/Has been fixed and is working perfect! Sep 16, 2009
My wife and and I love the look of this lamp, it looks beautiful, and the light is plenty bright for a small/medium size room. The only problem we had was the pull string broke after 3 months. If you check out Target's website, you'll see more reviews stating this. If you buy this, make sure you use a light switch or power strip to turn it on and off cause that pull chain is fragile. I have contacted the manufactuer twice about a replacement, but have been met with just a voice message box and no return calls so far. *9/16/09 update - I called again, got a lady named Anna just now, she said they would send a replacement top shelf with the socket and plug for free, I will change my review based on this experience, I will update again as soon as I have the part.
*Update
Part came in, works much better now, they've strengthened the pull chain and improved the design, I now love this lamp again. I had to hound the Adesso people to get my replacement part, but they did finally send it free of charge. I'm bumping it up 2 stars.

Easy to assemble
Lets a dim light not too sharp to hurt your eyes(Unlike most other lamps)
Shelves are good enough to hold somewhat heavy things too.
Adds to the looks of the room, elegant, classy.
Product as such weighs less, can be carried easily.
Product just arrived- cant comment about durability. But this does not look like giving up if handled properly.
A good buy, for the product's price.
Delivered as said in the order within 4 days.
